EyeCandys Powerglow Review: Pink, Turquoise and Purple Contacts

I tested three shades from the EyeCandys Powerglow Color Contact Lens Series—Reddish Pink, Turquoise Blue, and Bluish Purple. My natural eye color is hazel (a brown-green mix), so you’ll see how each shade looks layered over that base. Each pair has a bold dark limbal ring, which adds definition and a younger look to the eyes.

Turquoise Green

The Turquoise Green shade looks like turquoise with a clear black limbal ring. It covers my hazel eyes well but still allows a hint of natural color to show near the centre.

  • In brighter indoor light by the window, the color appears vivid and almost ocean-like.
  • In softer light, it shifts to an emerald tone with more depth.

This was the most striking of the three shades of contacts.

Reddish Pink

The Reddish Pink lenses gave me the most dramatic change. They immediately made me look different, almost like an anime character!

  • With one eye in pink and one natural, the contrast is strong.
  • With both eyes in, the pink dominates while the limbal ring keeps them defined.

These pink/red lenses add intensity and feel the most transformative.

Bluish Purple

The Bluish Purple lenses stood out for their unusual tone.

  • In strong light, they appear clearly purple with a crisp outline.
  • In softer natural light, they deepen into a muted, darker shade.

They don’t blend as naturally as the green or pink but are unique in their own way.

Who Should Try the Powerglow Series?

These lenses are not subtle or everyday lenses for school or work. They are best suited for:

  • Cosplayers and anime fans who want an authentic cartoon-style look.
  • Party and festival goers who want something bold enough to be noticed in dim lighting.
  • Anyone trying out a themed or artistic makeup look where unusual eye colours complete the effect.

If you’re looking for natural enhancement, these aren’t the right choice. Powerglow is for when you want to be seen (and for your contacts to be seen)! I’m 100% sure that people will be asking you, “Are those contacts?” or “What contacts are those?” when you wear them to your event.

Final Thoughts

Each colour in the Powerglow line is bold and noticeable. On hazel eyes:

My favourite was the Turquoise Green for its brightness and versatility.

Summary

The EyeCandys Powerglow Series is designed for people who want standout eye colours. These lenses all feature a bold limbal ring and give off an anime-style effect. On hazel eyes, the Turquoise Green is the brightest, the Reddish Pink is the most transformative, and the Bluish Purple is the most unusual. These are not everyday contacts—they are best for cosplay, parties, or creative looks when you want to make an impression.
